Reach a global listening audience with our one-stop-shop independent audiobook distribution platform. We’ve simplified the audiobook distribution process so you can sell on Audible, Spotify, Apple, and more without exclusivity contracts. Sell audiobooks everywhere, from major retailers and streaming services to library channels and niche startups. From Google Play, Hoopla, and Chirp to AudiobooksNow, Nook by Barnes & Noble, Audiobooks.com, and more, our 50+ audiobook distribution platforms help you reach the widest sales network possible. Our list of audiobook distribution partners is always growing, too, as we are building exciting new relationships in foreign markets that were previously inaccessible to most authors. With one of the widest audiobook distribution networks and no exclusivity contracts, Author’s Republic offers authors and publishers the best way to sell audiobooks and the opportunity to earn up to 25% more than by selling under exclusive agreements.
As an author or publisher, when you work with Author’s Republic for audiobook distribution, you’re in charge. Once you’ve uploaded your audiobook and set your price, you get to choose your audiobook distribution channels. You can decide where to sell audiobooks and which of our partners you want to work with. Our audiobook distribution retailers are grouped into categories, including Amazon/Audible, Retail Distributors, and Music Channel Distributors. If you don’t want your audiobook distributed on one of these channels, you can opt out during the review process. Of course, we always recommend submitting to as many audiobook distributors as possible to maximize your profits. You’ll receive one monthly payment for royalties collected across all sales channels.
Each of our audiobook platform partners has unique acceptance criteria, and sometimes, your book won't fit the bill. If a distributor rejects a book, we will let you know.
Once a book has moved through the Author’s Republic approval process, it needs to be approved by individual audiobook distributors and audiobook platforms. Each distributor has its own process and timeline. Once the book is in our partners’ hands, it can be available for purchase as quickly as 5 business days or as long as 60 days. We are not notified when your audiobook is live, so you will need to look on each platform for any updates.
The answer is it depends. If you have a non-exclusive distribution agreement with Audible, you can. When you add your audiobook to our platform, just make sure that the “Amazon/Audible” checkbox is unselected. This will allow you to keep selling your audiobooks through Audible and Amazon independently, and we will sell it everywhere else. If you have an exclusive agreement with Audible, you can reach out to them and ask that your audiobooks be distributed under a non-exclusive agreement instead. Be aware that this may change your royalty terms with Audible, so make sure that you check all the details.
Unlike other audiobook distributors, Author's Republic does not require you to have already listed your eBook or paperback on Amazon in order to sell your audiobook on Audible.
